38 year old Kristina Joksimovic is one of the latest wives in the multitude of wives murdered by their husbands in recent years.
She was strangled, dismembered, pureed in a blender, then dissolved in chemical by her husband 41 year old Marc Rieben on February 13 2024 – in Binningen, Switzerland, after he found out she was planning to leave him.
The discovery all started when Kristina’s parents were notified by her children’s school that no-one had come to pick her girls up, so they went, got the children and took them home. When they got to the house, their dad Marc said Kristina was not home, he did not know where she was, and that she sometimes just leaves.
Kristina’s parents stayed back chatting with Marc as he prepped dinner, then they all ate and the children went to bed. Kristina was still not back and was unreachable by phone. So Kristina’s mom distracted Marc while her dad searched through every room in the house. When he got to the laundry room in the basement, he saw blonde strands of hair sticking out of a bin bag. And when he opened it, he saw his daughters’ head. He then ran out the garage door screaming and told a passer-by to call the police. He then went back inside to confront his son-in-law, who was dumbfounded as he did not expect anyone to find out. He showed no emotion, with his only comment being that they said they would only be at his house briefly.
He was arrested and named “Thomas” in reports, and initially told authorities he found her dead at the foot of their stairway, then “in panic” cut her up and tried to get rid of her body. However, since autopsy revealed Kristina was strangled, Marc has since confessed claiming he killed her in self-defense after she came at him with a knife. According to authorities, Marc used a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears to dismember her body which he then “pureed” portions in an industrial blender before dissolving portions of her remains in a chemical solution. He also carefully removed her womb which was the only organ cut out of her torso, in a deliberate mutilation or ritualized degradation of her body which the court believe may be due to mental disorder. (NO MENTAL DISORDER CLAIM HERE PLEASE, HE’S A SADISTIC PSYCHOPATH)
The autopsy revealed Kristina’s cause of death was strangulation, with her neck showing a “reddish throttle mark”. Her body showed signs of blunt force trauma suffered prior to her death, with Kristina having cuts on her cheek, under her eyebrow and nose as well as several bruises on her right lower leg, foot, shoulder blades and on the back of her head. A closer examination of her head revealed wounds indicating that some of her hair was ripped out. The autopsy also revealed that before Marc dismembered her, he broke Kristina’s hip joints out of their sockets and went on to perform disarticulation – which is the removal of a bone from its joint, like an amputation – with her left upper arm, forearms and right lower leg. He then “roughly severed” Kristina’s upper spine to decapitate her and further split her torso in half above her pelvis.
Investigators found “a large number” of skin flaps, “some with attached muscles” as well as “a large number of pieces of muscle, some with attached pieces of bone”. And while Marc was dismembering Kristina’s body, he was playing Youtube videos on his phone.
The investigation is still ongoing and NO CHARGES HAVE YET BEEN FILED. However, according to Dailymail, Marc is from a wealthy and influential family, so I’m surmising that may be the reason he is not yet charged and his real name withheld from police reports.
Kristina’s friend, who wants to remain anonymous out of fear of “repercussions” from Marc, told the Dailymail Marc is a “ticking time bomb” and she fears “all of us will be dead in the water, especially his children” if Marc is released from custody.
Kristina is a model who won Miss Northwest Switzerland competition in 2007 and went on to be a finalist in the 2008 national competition. She had met Marc at work and fell in love, and they were married pretty quickly in August of 2017. They then had two daughters – one in 2020 and the other in 2021, and there is nothing Kristina would not do for her children.
A source told 20 Minuten:
“She wanted to break up, but was afraid of him.”
And according to one of Kristina’s closest, long-time friend:
“Kristina told me ‘Marc always wants me to leave the house’ and when we were out and about, she would always check in to see how the kids were doing and waited to hear from Marc. She really just wanted to be with her daughters, but he wouldn’t let her. He developed obsessive and compulsive tendencies when it came to the children. They were his perfect project and Kristina was in the way.”
And according to a source close to Kristina:
“Their relationship was in crisis for months. They were happy in their relationship until Thomas launched his own business in 2022. And shortly after, his temper changed quickly and the relationship started to crumble”.
And according to police, they have been called to Kristina and Thomas’s home several times in the past regarding physical violence.
Her last post to social media was captioned, “My World”.
It is unsurprising to note that investigators conducted a psychological assessment and found Marc showed, “a lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife and displayed sadistic-sociopathic traits”.
Unfortunately, this diagnosis means he was able to hide his true self so well, until it was too late.
It is so very dangerous to stay in the same dwelling as your partner while you are planning to leave them. You will have to be a great actor to avoid him catching on, and you also will not know if he has cameras watching you. Imagine you embracing and kissing him as he go off to work, and as soon as he walk through the door you frown and wipe your mouth clean. Then he checks his camera – possibly from his phone and see your reaction after he left. And that is just one scenario. He could also hear you talking to someone about your plans or has a hired a PI to follow you around and check on your every move. Staying in the same house with him as you “plan” to leave is risky business that gives him full access to you, while you may not be aware he is on to you.
Don’t plan to leave, just leave, and cut all communication. Don’t threaten them that you’re going to leave. Make a clean cut and leave. And I say cut all communication because some men are master manipulators and many times you are still in love with them and may believe their lies of wanting to change and make the relationship work. Don’t fall for it.
And as far as the kids, that can be complicated. I know the law can get in the way when kids are involved, thinking they are helping but actually making the matter worse. But allow the court to make their decision of shared custody if they fail to grant you full custody. That will most likely be short-lived, because 9 out of 10 he’s going to come looking for you, and if you do what you are suppose to do correctly, you won’t have to worry about him hurting your kids – as revenge on you.
I really do hope the courts are paying attention to these horrific femicides, and realize the men have zero care about their own children, and allow abused women to make decisions that are best for their kids – including not allowing the men to have contact with their children. In abused cases, it should be justified to have the men stay away from their children as well. If a man physically hurt his wife, he could also physically hurt his children. This man didn’t kill his children – thankfully, but being afraid he could get custody of their young daughters or even shared custody may be the main reason Kristina did not leave just yet.
Ladies, if you look around you, you will see the number of women that are being killed by their partner and ex-partner when they try to leave or leave them. And even when restraining orders are in place they still go and murder the women – totally ignoring the “stay away” order. So that is why I say that women must protect themselves – themselves, if staying alive is the goal. Yes, get a restraining order, but that is after you have secured a gun and gun training, and find out the legal ways to off him in your State if he violates the restraining order. And never, ever hesitate or be afraid to use it on them – they will not be afraid to use theirs – or yours – on you. And ladies, don’t wait until you are in an abusive relationship to learn to protect yourself, get yourself enrolled in a self-defense class so you can be prepared. Marc did not shoot his wife, he strangled her, and maybe – just maybe if she had learned self-defense she could have escaped him. We all have one life to live, and no-one should be able to take it away so easily.
What this man did to Kristina was absolutely horrendous!!! It wasn’t enough to strangle her, or even dismember her corpse, he had to puree her in a blender and then dissolve her remains in chemicals. It’s as if he was looking to be recorded in the Guinness Book Of World Record as the man who murder then did the most things to a corpse.
The court has denied him bail and I sincerely hope his rich parents won’t find a way to bail him out. And I do hope he will be charged, found guilty, and suffer the highest penalty imaginable.
May Kristina’s precious soul rest in peace, and may her daughters be able to live in a loving and nurturing home, and forever surrounded by people who love and cherish them.
