Judian “Shashane” Guthrie-Williams Thought She Was Getting A Second Chance At Love, When She Connected With A Fellow Community Member And High School Alumni Anray Williams In 2022. But Nothing Prepared Her For What Unfolded In The Early Morning Hours Of April 8, 2025, That Cost Her Her Life.
When Judian woke up on the morning of April 7, 2025, in her humble abode in Frankfield Clarendon Jamaica, she had no idea that that would be her last day alive. And she had no idea that the man who vowed to love and protect her would be the one to take her life. But he was!
They were from the same community and had attended the same High School – Edwin Allen Comprehensive High where he graduated in 2003 and she in 2009. But their paths had not crossed for years, until recently, since Anray spent most of his time in Negril where he worked. They connected and bonded over things they love, and before long she introduced him to her daughter she had back in 2011 with a man she was deeply in love with, but did not work out. Her daughter Mickayla accepted him, and before long she was engaged. In July of 2023 they were married and by December of that same year, Judian gave birth to their adorable son JT, and everything seemed to be going great.
Until rumors started spreading that Judian was cheating while her husband worked late nights and sometimes had to stay over until the next day, and that their 15 month old son was not his son but a taxi man she was cheating with. And some neighbors went to Anray and told him same, encouraging him to do DNA test to find out for sure. But for over a year, Anray did not do the test, but it may have been on his mind and what he decided to do in recent days, producing an unfavorable result, thus prompting his vicious response which is indicative of some deep betrayal.
On the night of April 7, her husband Anray Williams who works as a pastry chef at Hedonism 2 Resort in Negril, hurried home from work with something clearly bothering him. As he got inside he took a knife from the kitchen area and stormed into the bedroom area cursing at Judian as he grabbed and shook her. Her daughter tried to intervene pulling on him while telling him to stop, but he slapped her pretty hard in her face and she ran from the room. Judian then tried to run behind her but Anray quickly grabbed her, threw her on the bed and began unleashing his wrath and rage on her.
He stabbed her multiple times causing blood to splash everywhere, soaking the bed they were on, and as she began to lose consciousness he slit her throat to ensure she would die. He then threw the baby boy through the window before lighting the bed on fire with Judian on it. After which he left and went to his pastor where he confessed. And after agreeing with the pastor that he should turn himself in, he went outside slit his wrist and his throat in an attempt to take his own life.
But it was botched and emergency technicians were called to the scene and they rushed him to the hospital where he was treated and remained under police guard.
As all of this was going on with Anray, Julian’s daughter had gotten neighbors to pull her mom from the burning bed and house, and as Mickayla saw her mom as they laid her on the ground outside she hollered and screamed in pain. Her mom seemed to be bleeding from everywhere, and she seemed lifeless.
Emergency help came and put out the fire, while emergency technicians rushed her to the hospital where she was immediately pronounced dead.
Now two children are not only motherless, but fatherless and homeless, and Mickayla has become another child who has lost her mom by a man who has been in their lives for less than 5 years.
May Judian’s precious soul rest in peace, and may her children be welcomed in a loving and nurturing home where Mickayla can get the counseling and or therapy she will need to heal and thrive.
There is no doubt this is one of the most horrendous crimes we have covered, but we hope many people will learn from these stories, and begin to make changes so these crimes can be greatly minimized or eliminated completely.
