“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!” And that scorned woman in this case is 24 year old Raegan Anderson who kidnapped and murdered her 24 year old ex-boyfriend Chandler Kuhbander because he broke up with her and moved on with another woman after being with her for 7 years.
According to Newsweek, the two were in a relationship since high school and they even work at the same workplace – Liberty County Fire Services in Hinesville Georgia, as firefighters. But according to Chandler’s mom, their relationship was very toxic, and Chandler did not want to be in a toxic relationship anymore. So he broke off with her in 2023 and have recently started dating again.
On June 22, 2024 Chandler was on a date with his new woman at Olive Gardens when Raegan walked in and started making false allegations about her. The woman then got up and left the restaurant and Chandler followed behind her to ensure she was ok. Raegan then went out to the parking lot following Chandler cursing at him and the two got engulfed in an argument. Raegan then proceeded to key his car, broke the gas cap, and ripped the rear windshield wiper off then left the scene after Chandler dialed 911.
She was subsequently arrested at a nearby Walmart and charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Raegan told authorities she was on her way to another restaurant when she saw Chandler’s car in Olive Gardens parking lot and stopped by. She said when she went into the restaurant she saw Chandler with a woman and went over to have a conversation with her. She told authorities she and Chandler were together for 7 years and she was hurt to see him moving on.
At some point she was released, and three days later she and Chandler were nowhere to be found, and families and friends began to fear the worst. According to Chandlers’ mom Jane Kuhbander speaking with CourtTV’s Julie Grant, she thought Raegan was in “a bad headspace” and “a danger to herself.”
And she was right, but Raegan was also a danger to her son.
On June 25th Raegan and Chandler were spotted in Savannah Georgia and by Sunday June 30th they were found dead in Cocke County Tennessee. Autopsy were later conducted to ascertain cause of death, but the results are still pending. However, authorities believe Raegan shot Chandler and then turn the gun on herself.
Raegan was obviously not on board with the breakup and could not take seeing Chandler with another woman. She became a woman scorned! Understandably, 7 years is a long time to invest in a relationship especially for women who often relate time to their biological clock ticking, and usually feel used and discarded when said relationship does not lead to marriage. But aside from that, Raegan clearly had issues she needed to work on, that were not being worked on, and it would not be fair to anyone to sacrifice their life and livelihood to remain uncomfortable in a relationship just so the other person could be ok.
Raegan used threats of taking her own life as a tool to get Chandler to stay in the relationship with her, but we all know that’s a HUGE red flag and a method of abuse against him. Men have used this method, women have use it but it never ends well for either party, and it didn’t end well for Chandler and Raegan.
It doesn’t matter if you are a woman or a man, you too can be a victim of domestic violence. Yes, women are the most affected victims of DV and the reason I and others focus more on women. However, men too need to become aware and take the necessary precautions to remain alive when all is said and done.
Know the signs of domestic violence abuse – physical and non-physical, and seek help early. Or better yet, ensure you are at your maximum self which will attract only people who themselves are at their maximum selves, and prevent situations like these. If both parties are 100% whole their relationship can never become toxic. And being whole will prevent co-dependency in the relationship, which is the major culprit leading to these kinds of ending.
Watch as experts briefly discuss the RED FLAGS in this case starting at 1:20:
May Chandler’s precious soul rest in peace and may Raegan find peace in the afterlife!
